CartShare Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

CartShare is a free tool built by Izoate Tech. It is made up of a Chrome extension and the share pages on this website. This page explains what data it uses and why.

What the extension does

CartShare reads the contents of your Amazon.com shopping cart (product ID, title, quantity and thumbnail image) only when you actively ask it to. That means clicking "Read Cart" in the toolbar popup, the floating cart button while browsing amazon.com, or the floating share button on Izoate Tech's sites (izoate.tech and izoate.com). It then sends the items you choose to our server to create a shareable link, valid for the time you pick (1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days).

What we collect

How we use it

The product list is stored on our server only to show the shared cart page you create, until the link expires or is deleted. Anyone who opens that link while it is valid can see the items and add the same items to their own Amazon cart. The link to Amazon is a plain link: it contains no affiliate or tracking ID, and we earn nothing from it.

Data retention

Every link expires after the time you choose (the maximum is 30 days). Once expired, it stops working immediately. The server checks this on every visit. Expired links are then deleted from our database 30 days later.

Third parties

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties.

Your choices

Uninstalling the extension stops all data collection. Nothing is sent anywhere until you click "Read Cart" and then "Create Share Link".

Personal notes on shared links

A note is stored with the link, shown as plain text (web addresses are removed) and deleted together with the link. Only the person who created the link can add or change it, using a private key held in their open extension panel.

Reactivation requests

If you ask for an expired link to be reactivated, we collect only your email address, your message and the link's ID. We use them only to review and answer your request, including one email with your reactivation link if the request is approved, and never for marketing. Requests are deleted 30 days after they are answered, and any unanswered request after 90 days. We keep at most three open requests per link and ignore exact repeats.

Anonymous view and click counts

Each share page counts how many times it was opened and how many times its "Add to Amazon Cart" button was clicked. These are plain totals per link, not tied to any visitor, and we set no cookies for them. QR codes are generated on your own device and are not sent to any service.

Using CartShare on your phone

The page at /cartshare/build/ works without the extension. The list of products you add is kept only in your browser's local storage on your device until you create a link, and you can clear it at any time. To show a small picture of each product, your browser asks our server for it by product code, and our server fetches it from Amazon's image host without storing it. If you paste a short Amazon link (such as a.co or amzn.to), our server opens that link only to read which product it points to, then discards the result. It does not read the Amazon page, and it does not store the link you pasted. When you create a share link, the same information is stored as described above.

Abuse protection

To stop spam and automated abuse, our server keeps a short-lived counter for each visitor, keyed by a one-way hash of their IP address (not the address itself). It exists for at most one hour and is used only to limit how many links, notes or requests can be made in a short time. It is not used for tracking or analytics.

Amazon links on our information page

The CartShare information page (www.izoate.tech/cartshare/) contains two ordinary Amazon links that are marked as affiliate links, with a disclosure next to them. They are separate from the tool: the cart links CartShare creates, the share pages and the extension carry no affiliate or tracking ID.
